The number of recoveries of homes in Spain has skyrocketed to unprecedented levels according to the latest figures from the Bank of Spain. Conservative sources estimate the figure at more than 250,000 recoveries since the housing market collapsed in 2007. The real number may be higher. This swell, in turn, has generated and exacerbated other phenomena as a new generation of middle-class squatters in Spain.
